Things to expect:

Frosty mornings. Use frost cloth to cover freeze-tender plants and young plants.
Citrus fruit drop due to too much rain or watering.
Chlorosis and leaf drop of citrus caused by cold weather.
House plants experience winter also, cut back on watering and fertilizing.

Things to do:

Winter watering should be no more than 1/3 of the summer frequecy for deciduous and dormant plants. Water deeply but less often.

Fertilize winter lawn monthly.

Be attentive to weather forecasts and protect freeze-tender plants.

Delay tree and shrub pruning until January.
